From chatbots and avatars to voice bots for chat platforms, CoRover develops human-centric conversational platforms with generative AI (gen AI) technology. One of its popular products is BharatGPT, a gen AI platform that’s specifically designed for Indian businesses.
BharatGPT functions like any genAI chat platform, but provides customers the flexibility to use it within their own parameters. This means that customers can choose to operate BharatGPT within an enclosed ecosystem so that it taps only onto data that it is provided with. That said, customers can also expand its capabilities to include external data. Being able to customize BharatGPT for users gives brands the confidence in knowing that use of their data is within their control.
Beyond BharatGPT, CoRover also developed products like CoroAssist, which is a genAI-based copilot for enterprises, eSevak, a grievance management system, and AskDISHA, a ticket booking natural language application. With CoRover, customers have been able to improve operational efficiency by 70%, and experienced revenue growth of 10x.
To support the development of its products, CoRover decided to implement Google Cloud, in particular Vertex AI, Speech-to-Text AI, Text-to-Speech AI, Cloud Translation API, and Natural Language AI. For example, customers using the CoRover platform to build a virtual assistant for their platform can leverage the capabilities of Gemini as the LLM of choice behind their virtual assistant. With just a few clicks on its platform, businesses can build a personalized bot backed by Gemini, and filter the context of the bots responses as needed.
On the infrastructure side, CoRover relies on Google Cloud solutions like Cloud GPUs, Compute Engine, and Cloud Storage to manage the unstructured data that comes through its pipelines.

Providing customers with a secure, customizable LLM platform
When brands implement BharatGPT, they can select if they want to include a GenAI layer to it. They can also select the option to use Gemini to broaden their reach through CoRover’s platform. These options give customers flexibility, while letting them be the gatekeeper of their own information.
Beyond the manual control of data access, the platform itself is built on a Google Cloud. This gives customers an added layer of security. “Google Cloud is approved by India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, so all of the security certifications and ISO qualifications are in place which makes it easy for us to implement,” says Ankush. The team uses Cloud Storage and Cloud SQL to manage its databases, and customize its workloads, and taps on Cloud GPUs to support its gen AI capabilities.
“With financial institutions like banks and regulatory bodies as part of our client base, we have a very diverse set of data-conscious clients. Google Cloud helps us provide them with a secure environment,” says Ankush.
Scalability on demand for a seamless user experience
One of CoRover’s key clients is the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), which supplies train tickets to commuters across India. The high demand for tickets means that a large influx of customers often access the website to purchase tickets the moment they are released. “During peak traffic, we get more than 10 times the usual load, and with the autoscaling capabilities of Google Kubernetes Engine, we can quickly manage the load to avoid bottlenecks,” explains Ankush.

Without any on-premises servers, CoRover is confident that it will continue investing in hyperscalers like Google Cloud. “The security and availability is definitely a good reason for choosing Google Cloud, but I also believe that the opportunity to work together to see where technology can bring us is a big plus point,” says Ankush.

Improving the user experience to build a genAI-ready future
In a move to democratize its foundational model BharatGPT, CoRover introduced BharatGPT.ai, which allows customers to build next-generation AI applications trained on a dataset of more than two trillion tokens, with a strong focus on Indic languages and reflecting the Indian ethos.
Using BharatGPT.ai, chatbots are easily scalable and leverage the genAI technology of BharatGPT to answer various business questions across multiple domains. It can also conduct specific actions automatically with machine learning capabilities.
