This International Literacy Day, we highlight the significance of AI literacy and set our sights on making next year’s celebration the first International AI Literacy Day on 8 September 2025.
Let’s work for a future where everyone has equal opportunities for learning, meaningful engagement, empowerment and access through technology and AI. We aim to ensure within one year 1 million people have an understanding of AI and its application which narrows the gap between the digital and non-digital society.
I see a future where everyone can leverage the benefits of technology and AI, regardless of education level, literacy, geography, financial status, language, or background. To achieve this, I believe citizens should be aware of their human rights and values, and be empowered to advocate for the responsible, democratic, inclusive, lawful, and regulated use of AI.
